MARIANN SHAW
What began as a routine OBGYN check-up quickly turned into a life-altering experience. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and unexpectedly rushed into labor. Although my doctor managed to stabilize my condition with the goal of extending my hospital stay until 30 weeks, complications forced an emergency cesarean at 28 weeks.
That day, I became a neonatal mother. Navigating the emotional roller coaster of the NICU, I learned firsthand the challenges—and the miracles—that come with premature birth. When my baby, Maison, and I finally graduated from the neonatal unit, I knew I was meant to help others. Today, my ministry is dedicated to offering hope, support, and guidance to every NICU family facing their own journey.

"We left the NICU, by my heart stayed behind."
"I know exactly what it feels like when you are afraid to hold your baby because they're too small. Or to sit there and watch them learn how to breathe and wonder if it was something you should have done differently to prevent this. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed with the challenges of low milk production or wishing there was someone to talk to.
This organization is personal because it in-fact hits home.
If I can help a family during their experience and provide encouragement or resources along the way, then I know and believe that we passed through the NICU for a reason."
Maison Alexander Jerkins
Maison was born at 28 weeks due to preeclampsia. When he was born, he weighed 2 pounds and 12 ounces. Once the water-weight fell off, he was 1 pound and 12 ounces.
Due to under development areas, Maison experienced a few medical procedures and by the age of five, his immune system finally became stable and strong to fight off illnesses.
Maison was blessed to fight through and concur the NICU. Sharing his testimony is both a blessing and a gift.
